Westwood Online's educational mission is to provide traditional academic excellence by combining cutting edge technology with proven academic models. Our academic approach to education involves many levels. Westwood Online is committed to providing students the tools needed to be successful in their academic goals.

Academic excellence begins before a student ever takes their first course at WOL. The first level of educational strategy is to provide students an orientation course that familiarizes them with the concepts and tools involved in the online platform. These tools provide strategies that eliminate the uncertainties of an online learning platform and allow students to feel comfortable, so that on the first day of class they can concentrate on their studies rather than the logistics of a new learning environment.

The second level of strategy involves solid academic curriculum developed by qualified Instructional Designers with Educational backgrounds. Each course is developed in a 3 tier approach utilizing a Subject matter expert, Course Designer, and quality assurance measures. WOL courses are consistently organized so students quickly feel comfortable navigating within each course. Each course is designed to clearly articulate and assess the instructional objectives as listed in the academic catalog.

Finally, WOL constantly reviews curriculum and delivery methods to ensure the highest quality educational strategy possible. Rather than follow a forced model of delivery, the college constantly reviews curriculum and delivery modes to ensure students are engaging in proven outcome based educational applications in which they produce portfolio pieces to assist in providing real life value that contributes directly to successful careers.
