Greetings from Westwood College Online (WOL):

A college degree can be a key ingredient for anyone's career success - but the traditional route of a campus and classroom may not be the most effective or efficient path for everyone. Fortunately, there are now alternative choices that can provide you with a college education in a manner that can be individually customized to your situation.

Westwood College Online uses current Internet technology and combines it with a rich history of excellence in career education to offer our students -including you - a quality learning experience tailored to meet your individual needs. Westwood's 17 campuses around the country provide us with a solid, proven foundation that offers you quality content in an interactive, dynamic setting - this is not the equivalent of reading a textbook online!

The combination of faculty experience, course design, and technology create an effective (and popular) learning environment that may surprise people who think a traditional classroom is the only way to experience an interactive discussion with the faculty and other students.

Our core technical instructors have related work experience and degrees so they understand the demands and expectations that are part of the industry and can help prepare students to meet those challenges once they graduate. Additionally, our general education instructors hold Master's degrees and coursework for the classes they teach so they are well-qualified to help students with building a strong foundation for their future careers. They are available on an ongoing basis to provide feedback and guide the online discussion in some ways that would be difficult in a traditional classroom environment.

We are constantly updating our delivery system with the updated technology to avoid "transmission lags," enhancing the interactive nature of the experience and creating variety - from videotaped lectures to on-screen exercises to virtual chat sessions with other students.

Online college is not an easy substitute for the traditional classroom - on the contrary, for some, it requires a higher level of discipline, good time management skills, and the need for ongoing self-motivation.
