Westwood College Students attend the Pacific Design Center's Career Day
Los Angeles, California (October 2006) - Westwood College Interior Design and Computer-Aided Design/Architectural Drafting Students network with design professionals at the Pacific Design Center's first Student Career Day.
Several Westwood College South Bay Interior Design and Computer Aided Design/Architectural Drafting students took advantage of the opportunity to network with local design professionals at the Pacific Design Center's first Student Career Day on Friday, October 20, 2006. Located in West Hollywood, the Pacific Design Center features numerous showrooms that were opened to the students and served as a striking background for a networking lunch, roundtable discussions and tours.
The highlight of the career day events included a line-up of exceptional keynote speakers from the interior design and architectural industries. Featured speakers included the past and present American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Los Angeles Chapter Presidents, Sybil J.B. van Dijs and Bill McWhorter and financial mentor to design professionals, Bobi Leonard. Additionally, a Q & A session followed each keynote address, enabling students to gain first-hand insight and discuss with the industry experts how to best prepare and approach the challenges of working in the design field.
The opportunity for the Westwood College South Bay students to attend the Pacific Design Center's Student Career Day is just one great example of Westwood College South Bay's dedication to not only providing a top-quality classroom education for its students-but also providing exposure to real life applications of the skills that they are learning.
