Industry Experience
Larry attended his first college classes while stationed in Japan with the Navy. He knew then that he wanted to pursue a bachelor's degree, so after completing his enlistment, he enrolled in the journalism program at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Opispo, CA.Larry worked on the school paper and at the radio station as an undergraduate at Cal Poly.
After working for several years as a newspaper reporter he was drawn back to the classroom to pursue an MBA at California State University in Chico, CA.While in graduate school, he taught business communication classes, and worked part-time for a travel guidebook publishing company. Following graduation, he worked as a reporter for a daily newspaper in Lake Tahoe, CA where he covered the city and county government beat, and wrote general interest feature stories.
He later went to work for the McGraw-Hill publishing company, where he remained for the next 15 years. Larry worked in a variety of sales, marketing and management positions, primarily in the areas of learning technologies and online education. He is now employed by Westwood College Online as an instructional designer, developing many of the online business courses.
